I've been to Cairngorm (Aviemore) and Glenshee for snowboarding. I think Glenshee is meant to be better. Every time I've been to Cairngorm it's been windy, gusts of 30mph minimum, went once when it was gusting to 50mph which wasn't fun. The advantage Cairngorm has is the fenicular to get you all the way to the top in comfort.

Glencoe is also meant to be good. The chair lift gos all the way to the top, so if you're not experienced enough you'll find your self with a long way to go, but the ski-ing is meant to be good.

Can't reccommend where to stay as I live in Glasgow so have always just gone for the day.

Glencoe and the nevis range are a bit closer. Which, if you're driving, would definitely be a benifit. Glenshee's pretty good, but the road there can often get closed if it's snowing. Even when it's open only 4x4s can really get up in snow.

The nevis range is pretty decent from what I recall but I've not been in a few years.

Unless you're very lucky, expect the conditions messyhead described. I've not been up this year but have heard the snow is excellent this year and I know they just got a couple of feet of snow up around Aberdeen.

I'd say look at snow reports and, if they're all similar, nevis range.

Nevis Range isn't really any closer than Cairngorm as the road up isn't as good. It's the A9 to Aviemore that's probably quicker. Glencoe is probably the closest from Glasgow.

I've had a few friends go up this winter and they've said the snow has been excellent. There's actually been too much of it on some of the ranges. Some days have had excellent weather as well, blue skies with little wind. The best day snowboarding I've had was actually in Cairngorm at the end of March and it was like the Alps.
