Apple is hosting an event on the 27th Jan to unvail what it's calling it's "Latest Creation"!

Yes folks -- the rumors are true. Apple is holding an event on January 27th to show off something the company is calling their "latest creation." Hair standing on end? Good. The proceedings will take place at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts Theater in San Francisco, and will get underway at 10AM Pacific. We'll be there live -- as usual -- covering every little second of the action... so get ready!

This could be the iTablet!

The iSlate is being launched then, almost for sure it seems last time i checked the rumour mill. Hopefully new MBPs too.

I don't get what this tablet thing is, sorry for being stupid but is it basically a touch screen laptop sorta thing? Or is it like a graphics tablet?

Lol at people hoping it's not going to be expensive, of course it is!

All I know is that theyre aiming between the market/price/ability of the iPhone and a Macbook or iMac.

So should be around £6-800. And from what I've read and seen pics of it's just like the screen of a macbook, without the keyboard half! All touchscreen etc.

But tbh I don't see the point in a touch screen computer bigger than an iPhone. The screen will just get smugged and you'll have to clean it lots. Plus if you were to have it upright your arm would ache from using it lots. And then if you had it flat your more likely to scratch it or drop something on it, and it'll take up space etc... I just don't see the point!

I think they have taking inspiration from Wacom. Targeting graphic designers who work on macs with an external tablet. It will be much better for them to have an all in one I guess

Tablet PCs have been out for years, it's just interesting to see if Apple will take it a step further or release something the exact same with a white glossy shell and rely on mac fans to buy into it, hopefully they do bring something new to the table!
