I'm tempted to give up on the iMac for now and just get the iPad for now... But having spoken to dad the other day he sounded so gutted he's having to forget about getting an iMac! (I haven't told him I'm trying to get him one!!)

So I don't know WHAT to do! Another 23 greens seems so hard!!

I would NEVER give a mac up for an ipad... iPad is an oversized iphone. It doesn't have OS X which means u need the Mac. I really don't like the iPad and feel it will flop still as i see no viable market for it.

Go for the Mac John, way better proof pic/video. You could even film you giving the iMac to your dad, and your dad would be all confused/excited

As Ben said it's miles better than the iPad, with an OS X etc and you'll feel so proud of yourself at the end!!

You can get another 23 greens, don't give up now!

I think I want an iPad for no reason other than it would be nice to have.
If I want to go compute some stuff I have to go upstairs where I'd rather browse/laze about in the living room whilst watching tv. Kind of the stuff that doesn't really need a full computer, like web browsing and facebook.

Oh, and it would definitely be reading a book on the toilet in style
