Vinyl - MP3 Converter

Afternoon from a wet windy Cumbria!

My dad recently sorted out all of his Vinyl LP's (200+) and in it are some fantastic albums, ZZ Top, Led Zep, Status Quo, Beatles, The Jam etc. and I was wanting to convert them to .mp3 format.

Does anybody know of a decent (cheapish) Converter that I can get?

Thanks in advance.

Not done it myself but have been looking into it. The most convenient way to do it is if you have a USB Turntable, something similar as to this [Clicky], with it you will be getting the necessary software to record the vinyl's to your PC and MP3 format. The downside is that they seem to be going from around £65 and upwards!

Another way to do this is to follow one of the guides that you can find online, here is one example.. clicky, not sure how good it is since my Turntable is still in Sweden with my vinyl's! But as I said, been looking in to it for when I return back home!

Here is a link to a site with different software's for you, remember also, most software has a trial period so you could always trial different software if you can't get the time to do them all at the within the trial period! Linky

Hope the above is to any help for you!

Cheers
Tom

what i do is link up the amp output (the red and black togs for stereo output) to the mic input in my Mac. (coincidentally this also works for ripping voice messages off my iPhone / mobiles [headphone output to mic input] which is amazing for uploading the drunken messages you get from people as video files on facebook ) ... then you load up a recording piece of software like audiocity or audio hi jack pro, or even Garageband (or PC alternatives) .. hit record, and then segregate and name appropriately.

or, you could just use a 16th inch jack from audio headphones out on amp to mic in on computer.
