![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Ryanair RantThis weekend RyanAir were running a special offer on their flights that could be booked right up until Feb 28th. Me and my gf thought, although we already paid for flights at £70 to go travel home from Luton back to Derry for the 22nd of December, we can go home 4 days earlier for a measly £20 for the both of us, which we though was enough to justify leaving the empty seats on the other flight. My gf had mentally decided she was going home on the 18th December now and she decided to start telling her family etc, but she was hesitant to book the flights as their is a work Christmas party happening on the 18th and she couldn't make up her mind. Last night I decided, we're booking the flights, forget about the party and we can get home early for Christmas to see everyone, the sale was still on for other flights except for the date we wanted, she would have to book an extra day off work for the day before, and there was no flights on the Saturday or Sunday, the price was now £80. There was the big song and dance from the drama expert (the gf) who was really upset that she couldn't go home earlier for cheap as she had already told her family and she was arranging to do stuff with her sister etc, so I thought fu£k it, that's not fair on her, I'll sort these flights out for her since I have been fortunate with freebies etc lately. I did it last night for a surprise to tell her when she got back from work today, she rang this morning telling me to check flights, I thought what the hell I will play along only to find the exact same flight is now £20 again for the both of us... I feel stupid and robbed, how can a company do business like that? Especially when it comes to flights, I was under the impression that the seats on sale had been sold and that they were running out of seats, which is why I bought the seats on impulse. I keep telling myself that I would be happy if I never came on to check the flights so whats the point in being upset, but now the gf knows the situation and there's drama about this now, because times are tight and we could have used the money saved on the flight over the Christmas holidays back home. I rang C.Services which were useless, asked for the manager, which was just as useless and to top it all off, they have no refund or cancellation policy. It seems luck is not on my side

| iPod 60gb | You have a 7 day cooling off period don't you? So technically you can ask for a refund and then buy them again, although I imagine and have heard that if you explain this to the company then they'll normally just refund you the difference to save effort and admin. I know this is true with goods that you buy over the internet - not so sure about flight tickets. Good luck with it! |
