Someone broke my car. :(

As I posted in the FJ thread, I just got a phone call from my mum back home saying that someone has crashed into my car when they were out.

They hit it so hard that they smashed the front completely in, forced the CD player to pop out and land on the floor, pushed the car back so much that impaled on the neighbours car and both cars are on the pavement.

So I now have a siamese non-twin car which are both conjoined at the rear and also mine has a smashed in front.

Apparently it's going to have to be a write off.

Sorry Beezer
Let's hope it doesn't...
Did the guy who smashed into it reveal himself?

Well my mum phoned me again to say that the police phoned them back to say that the someone had got in touch with them to tell them that they smashed into my car after having a coughing fit.

He tried neighbours doors but nobody answered.

Apparently his insurance papers and stuff all check out so it will be down to his insurance.

I guess I'm lucky in that respects.

Mum's going to send me pictures in the morning when it's light.

Bad luck man! If it's as bad as it sounds it will be a write off. Hopefully the insurance company will be generous in their valuation.

I've received the pictures and it doesn't look as bad as my mind had conjured up.

The radiator still seems intact and it looks like it's just bodywork damage. I'll let you all judge for yourself.

I think it's not as bad as it looks, panels are designed to crumple.

You'll need a new bumper on the front and bonnet and a new rear panel on the back.

When someone crashed into my fiesta they took out the front panel, 2 doors and the back panel and it cost £1500 to repair

That's decent of the person to get in contact with the police instead of just giving up!

Hope you get it sorted

Panels are designe to crumple yea but with such a heavy impact, and the fact it was squeezed against another car there could be structural damage to rails etc.

I would guess a right off depending onthe valu of the car what it's insured at ?

Not too sure about the insurance details as my parents sorted all that out for me.
The car was brand new when we bought it and only had 7 miles on the clock.
Never been in an accident or had to claim anything from insurance on it.
Couldn't tell you much more about it.

Update on the situation.

It's a write off.

I am now officially carless, although I have been for the past 4 months since moving to Edinburgh.

Thought it would be but didn't want to put a downer on you.

No courtesy car?

Oh no not another person with a ka, they crumple up so easily so that hit probably wasnt that fast. After reversing into a reversing ford ka (in a car park) mine had a tiny mark from a screw but their bumper dented and cracked, light popped out and boot floor pan crumpled. Hope they wrote it off for her sake because she said she carried kids in that tin can, imagine a transit hitting the back at any speed! Well i guess thats a 2* car for you, although yours is a bit newer. Glad knowone was in yours, cars can be replaced - people cant.
