I did it!!

As many of you know I went away last weekend... on a train to Edinburgh. The journey took 4.5hours, was fairly comfortable and warm.

Of course it was the getting back to London that was the hard part! A group of 100 students or people related to universities CYCLED from Edinburgh to London... in a week!!

We left for Edinburgh of Monday and spent the day enjoying the Edinburgh Festival, then our week went as follows:

Tuesday
Left Edinburgh and headed for Berwick-Upon-Tweed. Cycled across the beautiful purple mountains of Scotland... in the battering wind and rain! Eventually made it after many hills. A short day of 60somthing miles!

Wednesday
After camping in a scottish field we left for Newcastle. Tbh, I can't really remember much as everything rolled into one this week, but I do know we had a lot of fun!

Thursday
Headed down to Leeds on our 1st 100+ mile day! Unfortunately my Achillies Tendon swelled up and I only did 62miles and had to get a train the last bit. Very disapointed, but at least we made it.

Friday
Onto Nottingham. Thanks to my rest the afternoon before I made the entire 110mile journey with little pain to my ankle! Well Chuffed! (And well chaffed!)

Saturday
Left for Oxford with everyone all achy and sore! Unfortunately I only made it to Lunch having done 54miles. My ankle was in agony, so I joined another guy with an injured knee and navagated the support van to our destination. Pretty much broke down when we arrived as i just felt so disapointed.

Sunday
Still, I reckon the rest did me good and I set out to London. I again made the whole 70+mile distance, with a high average speed! Accidently took a couple of detours, which turned out flater and quicker so was better for my ankle. Arriving in London was a little tricky what with getting lost etc! Still... I was the 1st person to ride through Wellignton Arch at our destination! What a feeling! Once everyone had arrived and gathered we cycled from Wellington Arch down to Buckingham Palace and did a few laps around the roundabout there... then out came the champange!

34hours in the saddle riding 452miles from Capital to Capital.

Had an absolutely amazing week! A truly epic journey filled with memorable moments that will never be replicated again!

I'll link photos once I've uploaded them... I'm back at work today so not really had time!!

Alos got back to find my pending had gone green which is nice!
Did I miss anything exciting?
