You may or may not be aware that from early next week all UK mobiles will be on a directory which means that anyone will be able to access your number for the payment of a small fee.

This means that you and all your friends and family who have UK mobiles could be swamped by unsolicited messages and calls. If you do not wish to be on this list you must unsubscribe.

It is easy to unsubscribe but it must be done before the beginning of next week to make sure that you are ex directory. Removal is recommended by the BBC - see link below.

Select ex directory and follow simple instructions .

You need your mobile phone with you as they will immediately text you a code which you must then re-input to become ex-directory.

Good thing i A. dont live in the UK and B. Don't even have a phone. I may look into getting a free iphone though... after my macbook...

Last time I read about this (or one of these) they don't actually get your number, they just send a message that they want to contact you.

You then receive a text and confirm if you want their number, then you can contact them. But maybe that was a different one, has anyone fully read this one yet?

ye but i still dont want my number in there. ive had mine removed. tbh i also think its out of order to begin with. if they want our numbers they should ask for them, we shouldnt have to go to them to ask to have the number removed
