| Call me Ben .... | EmailsOk so i have a huge list of referrals i would like to add to msn and i'm sure if i can figure out how to do what i want to do this could help loads of people as manually adding emails take too much time! Anyway what i want to do is with a list of emails, change it from: random@email.com TO <contact>random@email.com</contact> So basically adding those <contact> and </contact> thingys. Is there a way i could do that with every single email somehow? Cheers!

| Currently: Moderating! | Should you not give THEM the option of adding you? If their interested they will add you. This is what I do. I put in my email "please feel free to add my on MSN to talk in more detail about the whole Process. Do not hesitate to contact me" etc etc You should put the ball in their court first. In which case use any of the email extractors that have been broght up on eXceem

| Call me Ben .... | Well they do have the option? They can decline my invitation if they wish! Generally it's better than a simple email really for the referral.

![]() | Woo! I've found a way! OK, so you need to open up Excel, and on column B paste all of your desired email addresses, going down with one cell for each address. Then, on column A, on the first cell, type in "<contact>", then just copy and paste it all the way down so there's one for every email address. Then, on column C, do the same for "</contact>". Now just select the whole thing; Columns A, B and C down to the last address and copy it all to Notepad. In Notepad, you should have it set out like this: Code: <?xml version="1.0"?>
<messenger>
<service name=".NET Messenger Service">
<contactlist>
<--put your long list of addresses here-->
</contactlist>
</service>
</messenger>
Then you go into Messenger, click on the Contacts tab and click "Import Instant Messaging Contacts..." and locate to that "Contacts.ctt" file. Then, hey presto, your contacts should be all added! Last edited by pspupgrade; 08-07-09 at 05:15 PM.. |
