Agreed, it seems it would have the "one use" novelty.

Looks very cool, although what are people going to actually play it on - looks very good on the fairly large white table (but whos got their tv, eye camera and ps3 on one of those). I would either have to play it on a small 1mx0.5 coffee table or on the laminate, neither of which are that practical as not directly infront of the tv! Reason the previous eye games have worked (well i remember the ones on the ps2) is that it didnt require anything other than you and a camera mounted ontop of the tv to be able to play.

But otherwise i think its cool, due to the lack of kids and younger brother/sisters my excuse would have to be how innotive and impressive the technology is - research purposes!

The technology these days are amazing, but that doesn't mean that every person in the world has to have a 'virtual' pet when you can get a real one which is much better and probably more cheaper!!

a real pet comes with responsibilty and costs far more than any virtual pet would, cant see how you can even compare the two.

the idea is its a game "entertainment" getting young children to interact which stimulates hand eye coordination.

try leaving a real pet locked up in the cupboard until you decide to play with it again.

lol. oddly i happen to think the opposite. i have a wii and i love it and wii fit is the game i've played less than any others.

some games have plenty of longevity/replay value, like zelda, mario galaxy and house of the dead: overkill (with the gun accessory!). im not too keen on the games where you need to stand up tho like tiger woods, i love tiger woods on ps3/360 but if i could be bothered to actually stand up and take real swings i'd go out and play real golf!

Exactly, a real pet is FAR superior to anything that a computer can create.

You don't get that amazing wet dog smell from a computer (yet) or a wet nose in the ear if you drift off on the sofa, or a warm body sitting in your lap.

Also, you don't get the same experience of running after your pet on a sunny afternoon, or standing in the middle of a field chatting with another owner as your pet dog runs around with others and hunts rabbits.

Technology- you can keep it!
