| MJ lady with maracas | I have to say with a few days use, its faster than XP was to boot, alot more pleasing on the eye and runs fine on my "old" pc (p4 3.06 ghz (the first cpu that had hyperthreading) 512mb ram and a old mid range ati gfx card) I bet if I tried a recent game it would have a paddy fit, but its fine for net, office work, media playing etc I guess it would not mind a bit more ram, but I think ill be sticking with it when the RC expires.

| iBook | I think the fact you have a basic video card means the Aero stuff is not enabled, this will make it perform pretty good on a basic machine. What I've found is that if you have a low end decent vid card and the aero is turned on then that severely effects performance. |

| MJ lady with maracas | Its a ATI 9600 series 512mb ram on it (or could be 256) I was supprised tbh, not really bothered to push it with 3d stuff but it does the start-tab thingy perfectly fine

![]() ![]() ![]() | My gfx card is a Nvidia GeForce 8600GT with only 256 on board and it runs Windows 7 fine. I can also run Red Alert 3 with a decent frame rate at 1208 x 1024 and "high" settings. |
