Re: best place to buy guitar starters pack?

Hi,
If you are after a cheap starter acoustic for around the 100 quid and under mark, i would get either a Yamaha F310 or an Epiphone AJ 100 or AJ-10 as it used to be called.
The yamaha is highly mass produced so they do differ from each guitar to the next but they are very cheap and sound good for the money you pay. Perfect for beginners as they have quite a low action and comfortable frets, although the sound is good it lacks a bit of resonance because of the body material. These are the best selling starter acoustics in the world for good reason.
The epiphone's are also good, slightly more expensive but the sound and resonance is a lot better cos it has a larger body. The frets and action are not a s low with a thicker neck making it a bit bulkier so slightly more difficult to play for beginners.
I would avoid makes like stagg, encore, aria. I have compared some of these to the yamaha and epiphones and they really suck in comparison.
Makes TO go for are Tanglewood, yamaha, epiphone, Takamine and quite a few others i can't think of off the top of my head.
If you meant electric guitar i would go with a squier starter pack. Squier are the japanese manufacturer owned by Fender USA so their stratocasters are of good quality and very good replica's made with cheaper parts and materials.
The only real way to find out if a guitar is good or not is to sit down and play it.
