I just got the beta, anyone else have it?
It's pretty much exactly the same as vista, just a bit faster, some new features and they have replaced the start bar with a 'Super Bar'.

yeah i got it on dual boot but - i need it for the x64 coz my main pc is 8GB :P

it is awsome but still tons of features to still be announced.. which will be the final release till the launch !!!

Ah yeah, I have 4GB of RAM in mine, but the 32 bit (I never got why 32bit is represented by x86 when 64bit is x64) version seems to be using all the 4GBs.

Yep I'm duel booting with XP, but I use XP mostly as I have all my programs. Can't wait for the public beta release... Jan 7th is rumoured!

Is the public beta going to be build 7000 aswell?

It's a worry that they are playing with an update to Vista even though they haven't finished Vista itself.

from my knowledge its the same as vista it just does not use up as much stuff trying to run stuff as it would in vista.

+ and things are faster, boot up, installing of the os, launching apps, u get the idea

I can just about run Vista Utlimate so I'll give it a go consideering Windows 7 is supposed to use less resources

it does run very smoothly i know the specs for my old machine have not changed and it has taken windows 7 better then it did vista

loading times especially.

yeah its better think of vista as the stepping stone to get to 7

- fix all major bugs in vista and then release the master os :P

Steve Ballmer announced yesterday that the Public Beta is available free of charge to all users around the world tomorrow (9th). This will either be on Microsoft Corporation or Welcome to Windows 7
