Managed to land some high PR backlinks - how long before they take effect?

I have managed to land myself approximately 40 High PR backlinks (between PR4 and PR8) over the past couple of weeks and i still have a fair few more to do.
However, i am still stuck on th 2nd page of google for my chosen keyword, even though i was 3rd on the first page at one point without any sort of high PR links like the ones i have now. How long should it take for these high PR links to take affect and affect my ranking?

also, should this be enough (along with constant link building and blog posts) to see my site raise back up to the first page on google?

The backlinks will only affect your search result position when the google bot crawls the site you are linking from, also these pages need to make sure they have not got the nofollow tag on the links or google won't even look at them.

Be patient as google is constantly updating,

probably just looked for sites relevant to his, then sent a polite email to the webmaster. Thats how I would go about it

nofollow links don't help page rank but they do still help SERPs (apparently)

I have built these links manually on dofollow sites so all the links should be found, and then followed to my site by the google bots.

I don't pay for any of my links but i have paid a subscription to a service which tells me various sites which have a high PR and allow dofollow tags. The only problem is that they aren't very relevant to my site but high PR backlinks surely can only help my cause.

having links on non relevant sites dont hold much weight, try looking harder for sites more relevant, as said above any link does help with SERPS though.

On easyps3.co.uk your 'join here' (uk - top left) doesn't have a correct referral link on it. Thought id point it out, i'm assuming you want referrals

was the id wrong or the writing on the url?
coz itf it was just the id, that really shows how great a ste owner ash is

It was the url to the refer friends page, rather than my referral id. And yes it does sow wat a great network owner he is because that link is directing to Kudosnetwork so it wouldn't have made any difference to him if my link wasn't working or not.
