Well... first day at college.

Up at 6:30, out the house for 8, get back at 9 (partly because Leicester has opened a new shopping centre so had to have a look! )

But basically, it's such a big change then starting at 8:30 and ending at 2:45

Anyone else start today? I think I'm off to bed now

Lol, it will change soon, you will have free periods in the morning so u get lie ins and stuff. Im starting uni on the 22nd of sept. Im bricking it, gota leave my house at 7:30 to get there on time, with all the traffic and all that.

Finished college in the summer, used to have quite a few late starts and ended early quite a lot so I was pretty pleased with my college timetable.

Although with me it's normally more like 5:30 twice a week

It's not actually that bad. I have to get from my house to Ipswich which is a 20 min train or 30 min bus, then a train onto Norwich which is 45 mins, THEN a 25 min bus to campus! So if I have a 9am seminar (which, for the last 2 years I have been lumped with ), I need to be up before 5 it'll all be over soon though, then i'll probably be up even earlier every day to commute to work (if jobs are so hard to come by that I have to head London-wards).

Oh I know, it'll be good, and on Wednesdays I only have one lesson, but the busses etc are ... urgh :/

Yeah exactly...

Gonna have to learn the tricks of getting on there quickly etc

I have to go in by 11 tomorrow... so probably have to leave around 10am... get up at 8

I used to hate it, until i could dirive, then i would give people lifts for a small price hahah.

Hopefully my timetable for my final year of uni will be nice. Ideally a day off, 10am or later starts and a few early finishes. If im in for 10am i can leave at 9.30 which is nice and easy traffic, if i get up late i just have to make up the time driving stupidly fast through town!

Ive come to realise, that apart from exams and stressful exams that student life is pretty sweet. Now before i would of said differently, but i realise now that at the end of this shortish final year im out of education (unless i have erge to do a masters or something) and out looking for a job = more stressful! Luckily i'll still only be 20 when i graduate (if last year goes to plan!) so i guess i could play around in temp jobs for a few years if i want a easier life than 9-5!

Awww simon, I know how you feel, im only starting my 1st year at uni, but i cant help but think, in 3 years I actually have to take life seriously and get a job. Im aiming for a 30k PA job, to give my kids what I never got lol.

i don't resent students like some ppl do, in fact i kinda feel bad for them as they have a disadvantage in that they delay their careers for a few years...

... except for the ones who end up with good jobs but let's be honest thats probably a minority

most the students i know either get their degree and decide they have NO interest in that subject because they were forced to choose a course before they had any idea what they wanted to do,

OR

they get their degrees and can't get jobs with them so end up doing another degree.

bless 'em i say, they'll get there in the end
