Cross stitch anyone?

Hi guys!

Does anyone have an interest in cross stitch? I know it's more commonly thought of as an old lady thing to do but I've recently taken it up and I've really enjoyed myself. I've stitched the pokemon Mew, a grouping of Link, Navi and Zelda and I'm currently working on a Stargate themed piece.

I've posted some pictures and patterns for the things I've done in a blog post.

The Blog of a Freelance Web Designer » Blog Archive » Geek Craft: Legend of Zelda Cross Stitch, Pokemon Cross Stitch and Stargate Cross Stitch!

Your opinions/comments would be appreciated!

^_^

Haha - I'm not exactly taking comissions but nice try. =P

It's something that I do for fun really and it does take quite a long time.

Mew took about 5 hours and Link, Navi and Zelda took about 6.

I have found it to be quite relaxing - yeah. I do it while watching downloaded episodes of series and it helps me calm down. I'm currently dealing with anxiety/depression (long story) so it's been a real help.

I used to suffer from Insomnia a year or so ago, and I found that reading helps alot. Very relaxing. (Terry Pratchett )

Re: Cross stitch anyone?

Can't say I've ever had the desire to cross stitch! I remember doing one or two when I was younger though

By the way, Xaviier, I haven't forgotten to email you!

Re: Cross stitch anyone?

yup used to cross stitch when i was about 15 and did it for a good couple of years. used to give stuff to people as presents etc and was even sad enough to purchase cross stitching magazines to get the freebies that came with them..

gave it up a couple of years back thou.. ds and laptop kinda took over.. still got a couple of real big ones to do sometime but don't think i'll ever get the chance to sit down and get back into them..

like you're finished products Xaviier, would look great on the front of a kiddies card etc..
