Advice? trying to get in touch...

Hey, im trying to get in touch with a few friends i had at school when i lived in Holland.
I was just wondering if anyone else had ever tried this and been successful?
I know there's the likes of friends reunited but i honestly dont think they would have signed on
A. Because they are dutch and although it might be a service available there, it may not be as popular and
B. because they, like I, are probably only 17/18 and my lack of knowledge of the Dutch school system means they may or may not still be in school, or at the least just finished.

Anyway, just thought i'd try and get other people's thoughts on the matter. I mean how easy is it to find 2 people who live in a foreign country and you havent seen for 10 years?
They may not even remember me lol

Though i must add that i was writing letters back and forth with one of them for a while after i moved, then stopped but wrote a few a couple of years later when i was still in primary school.

Have you tried Facebook. I got in touch with lots of old friends through facebook.

I dont think theres any point, no one is going to join friends reunited the minute they leave school, like i mentioned in my original post.

And facebook would be tricky i think

I know searching for people on myspace is a nightmare, but have you thought of/tried there?

My mates use it for keeping in touch with friends they met while travelling or on holidays. They might still be a bit too young for that but you never know!
Maybe there are some dutch specific social networking sites too? Do you speak Dutch?

Just like to update, if anyone is interested, i managed to get in touch with the one person who's name i remember from my primary school there

Did it through a social networking site which is based in Holland but is actually available to a lot of countries Hyves.net - Always in touch with your friends

So chuffed! Even after like 10/11 years never ceases to amaze me the ability to find someone out of 6 billion using the internet!

Well i was lucky because she hadnt moved anywhere and is still at school, dunno how dutch schools work but she still has a year left.

The other one i know moved away about 7 years ago so i doubt even she will still be in touch.

Probably, as i said, she hasnt moved anywhere so some people probably went to her high school from primary.
I shall find out!
