help my xboxx blew up

hi last night my xbox devolped a system error code e74 has anyone got a clue how or if i can cure it at home.
i unplugged it took the hard drive out, let it cool down, tried a different av cable but still no joy.

what really pees me off last sunday i got a £200 amazon voucher from kudos which has all now gone, if it happend a week ago i would of gone for a elite or spent my voucher on a new one.
so as you can guess im pee'd off.

I don't know much about xbox, but have you googled the error code? It should tell you what to do?

E74: There is high chance it's a scaler chip problem (the "ANA" or "HANA" chip near the AV cable connection) it can also be caused by a faulty AV cable so check that first. In some cases it is a problem with the GPU and may be repairable by doing the x-clamp replacement (see error 0102)

xbox scene has a guide on how to fix it. =)

If your xbox is older than a year then phone the support line and tell them you have the red ring of death as that's covered by a 3 year warranty.

you can always return the stuff you just ordered from Amazon.....you just have to pay the postage to get it back to them...and then you can buy your 360 Elite!!
