Re: Anyone Have A Spectrum 48K For Sale?

I have a Commodore 64 which I can still remember getting. It was supposed to be a Spectrum but the catalogue sent the wrong one and my parents decided to keep the Commodore despite the fact it was more expensive. I was thinking of selling it but don't think I will now.

And paperboy is a good game But it was an arcade game first (remember playing it in Blackpool).

You can get a spectrum emaulator for the PC and download about 99% of the games for free... some of them are still very good, others haven't stood the test of time well.

Re: Anyone Have A Spectrum 48K For Sale?

Yeah, iv'e done that before and may do it again but, for me it was the actual messing about with the spectrum, hacking and poking and all the other things that came with owning a console lol!
Still, i might have a go at the emulator again thanks

btw, can anyone recommend one of the better speccy emulators as there are so many to choose from ?

I think you can tinker with the code in some of the emaulators, could be wrong though... of course you don't get that lovely loading sound with an emulator.

Re: Anyone Have A Spectrum 48K For Sale?

I always remember looking forward to seeing what the loading screen was like on my new games and then the disappointment as the game crashed when the loading counter got to 1 second left... kids these days with 360s and PS3's have mised a golden era.

I used to get Crash and also Your Sinclair I think, there was one that had a demo take each month. £1.99 could buy you a decent game in those days.

The one I have is called Spectculator or something like that. The World of Spectrum website has all the emulators and games. None of the Sega or Codemasters games can be downloaded but JSW and Skool Daze are there... enjoy.
