Stratocaster all the way... They have a beatiful neck, are really comfortable to play and have a really nice sound.

If you're spenind £100-£300 total, i'd get a good practice amp. After all, your guitar should sound good!

The Roland Micro Cube (Roland - Micro-Cube, - Online Music Store | Sounds Live) is an excellent buy. You can also consider the Vox AD15VT or AD30VT.

I would really like to say thanks for all of your help...very surprised...50 post in 5 hours!
