Whilst I would be happy for NI to get in, I would feel sad that Spain were kicked out for fairly minor political reasons that have nothing to do with the actual football team.

Reminds a bit of the same issues that arose with Leeds this season.

Sad???

It would be a bloody great thing - bunch of racist gits.
The amount of times that clubs & International teams face racial abuse from this countries so called fans is unbelivable.

But this is just another thing for Fifa to get there claws into, so an example could be set, if this is ever proven.

I know racism is a big problem over, but this has nothing to do with it. It is down to political reasons.

If FIFA want to stamp down on racism then I will be pleased, if they kicked Spain out for that reason then I wouldn't have a big problem with that. but they aren';t threatening that, this is down to politics and what appear to be minor procedural technicalities which I don't think is a good reason to kick a country out.

In fact the racism issue illustrates this perfectly. If racist fans consistently abusing black players is not enough in the eyes of FIFA to get you kicked out then why should this be? It tells me that FIFA aren't interested in racism and are instead concerned with protecting their own power. That is quite sad to me - that you can be kicked out for this, but not for consistent racism.

and what do you mean same issues that arose with Leeds,

This is all about the government "Picking" whom should run/be involve in the Spanish FA, basically be on the payroll of the government and answer to the government...

where as the issue at Leeds was to do with them going into administration, wanting to come out of adminitration and play in the League (via a Company Voluntary Arrangement (CVA), with football creditors paid in full.) and then with the ever delightful Ken Bates trying to beat The League, and pay back a lot less (think it was like 7p for every pound they owed) but this didnt go to well with both the League and the HM Rev & Customs and a leagl challenge was made.
This then went to court -- fears of leeds not starting the season was highlighted by the administrators and then put the club up for sale, to be brought by the guy that brought Chelski for £1, yep Ken Bates and thus wipping an estimated £80mil of Debt (that would buy Elland Road back 10times over)

You misunderstood what I meant, the facts are different but the issue is the same - the team and the fans face being punished for administrative matters which are not controlled by them and they are not responsible for.

The team has qualified for the tournament on merit yet they may be kicked out on an administrative matter, that's how its similar to the Leeds situation.
