Wireless For Xbox 360...

Hey,

Im hoping to have my Xbox 360 Elite by next week (rushing to get my assignments done now haha)

Just wondered if anyone could recommend any wireless products to use with the console - the official one is quite expensive but there are a few knocking about on ebay so if i have to get an official one I will but id like to know if there are any decent alternatives...

Cant wait to get on Xbox Live Mwahah

The official one is the only one you can plug into a console

You can get a wireless router/device that you can plug into the ethernet port on the 360, or you can do what i do (depends on if you have Virgin Media as your isp and use cable) is to move the cable modem and the wireless router next to your xbox, chances are your xbox lives next to the tv, as will your cable tv box, but depends on if you have space etc

Re: Wireless For Xbox 360...

Well we are on Virgin Media (only have the internet with them) but its a student house and the living room is upstairs and the modem/router is quite a distance away...

Looks like im gunna av to fork out for an official xbox one off ebay - theres quite a few on there so shouldnt be a problem...

Is it pretty easy to set up?

You could get a ethernet cable, you should be ok with up to 20m of it, additionaly there anyones pc's near by to it?

as for the adapter its a case of just pluging it in from what I understand, and entering in any WEP codes you have on the wifi network

Hhhmmm...

That would be good cause our router is Belkin aswell...

Which do you reckon would be best speed/most reliable...

May tap up FJ for a custom order hehe.

Re: Wireless For Xbox 360...

obvously there is the different wifi standards b,g,n etc so it will only be as fast as your main router's specification

Other than that any of the popular branded products will do fine, but if you have a belkin router then it makes sense to get the same brand adapter

Re: Wireless For Xbox 360...

I use the 360's official adapter and connect to a Linksys wireless broadband router (Virgin Media as well).

The router serves two laptops and the 360 and I've never really had lag issues (Pro Evo 2008 excepted )
