![]() ![]() ![]() | advice requiredA friend of mine has been chatting to who she thought was another "girl" but it turns out they're not and now they won't leave her alone. She's given him her mobile number (as they were getting to know each real good, so she thought) and even though she keeps blocking him on msn, he keeps creating new addresses and bugging her. She's reported him to MSN but they don't seem to want to know. Would she be able to report it to the police or would they just brush it off ? |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: advice requiredThe only thing that i can see if that she was to save all of her contacts on her mobile to her mobiles memory, then get a new sim card, text all of her contacts her new number. Then take a list of all of the contacts on her MSN, tell them she is creating a new MSN account with her new addy, create a new account, then add all of her friends back into it. Thats the only thing i can think of, will take some time, but will definitely teach her not to give her details out to strangers. C.Temple

| Free The Gadgets | Re: advice requiredHere's a couple of helpful links: WiredSafety - the world's largest Internet safety and help group Abusive online communication - Cyber stalker - TheSite.orf The second link is pretty good. It mentions saving emails etc.. then forwarding them to the other persons ISP...dunno if that would work or not?! Plus she would have to find out their ISP! ![]() | Re: advice requiredcracking idea jaysta!!! I appreciate that she "SHOULDN'T" have to change her details, but really I think it's the safest option. In theory you can trace a person by their mobile number, so purely from a saftey perspective i think she should change her mobile number, her msn address and her email address, and just accept it as a life lesson. But to get her own back, post his number here and sign his number up to all those ring tone things that cost £3 per message received, proper f*** him up. |

Like it or not, Cd02's friend is just going to have to change her mobile number (and not add people on MSN that she doesn't know).

![]() | Re: advice requiredDont post his number... As long as no one abuses him in retaliation she can report him to the police... however if you can get ahold of his IP address then im sure someone nice on here will be able to find out his IP (and thus can email his ISP) |

![]() | Re: advice requiredI know that's the morally correct way Morphius, but lets face it, nothing will happen. Unless he actually attacks her (god forbid) the police will not be interested. The direct action by willing parties, will hurt this muppet, a) financially, and b) give him a taste of his own medicine. Agreed it's not the morally correct way of dealing with it, but i rekon it'll be the most effective. Write the number on a few bus shelters and backs of train seats etc, Put an advert in the free ads selling an item on the cheap so loads of randoms bug him! |

![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: advice requiredjust post on here, we can all wack it on site where u need mobile number to send stuff to ya, like free quotes, and updates on products, then wack it into some marketing sites. then he will have no time to harass her with his phone, as it will have alot of crap sent to him

![]() | Re: advice requiredWhile personally I hate people like this and would love to hurt them myself... the police also have an obligation to prevent crime not just sort it out after... they wont do anything your right but they will give you an incident number and such which is the way forward in contacting his ISP |

![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: advice requiredlol although jaysta's idea is amazing, I think if the police were informed then they would actually get in touch with the relavent people to find out who the guy is, 1 of my friends had a really bad prank call to his mobile and also his house so he went to the police and they came over to ask him a few questions and I think they got it touch with 02's department of prank calls (or whatever it's called!) and eventually found out who it was and the police spoke to the guy, that then solved the problem, even though this might not happen again in this case, your friend wouldn't have anything to lose CD02, I'd recommend sending her to the police and then post the mobile number here, that idea is wicked!! EDIT: Lol how hipocritical is my post?! |
