![]() | Things to do in Barcelona?I'm off to Spain in 9 days and I intend to spend a day or two in Barcelona. Has anyone been and got any good suggestions for things to do there? I went to Barcelona for a few hours last year but it was a tourist thing so we only got taken to Barca Zoo and the Nou Camp (was pretty boring after a while). So any suggestions would be great |

Botafumeiro Also go to the Sagrada Familias and the Gaudi museum if you can and take the cable car from near the Olympic Stadium down to the beach. |

Also there are some good pubs etc and Botafumeiro a nice restauraunt During the day there is the strip part where there are lots of side attractions etc and gambling! There are mimes and loads of shops to visit! |

![]() | Re: Things to do in Barcelona?I used to manage a bar just outside Barcelona. Loads to do depending how old you are and how far from the centre you want to travel. Personally I would stay away from the Rambla strip for eating and drinking (damn expensive, remember just after moving there buying 3 beers and 3 shots for 65 euros: and that was almost 5 years ago). Having said that it's a great place to check out (I prefer it at night: completely different place than during the day). Port Aventura definatly worth a visit no matter of age (requires a bit of travelling but the metro is really quick and easy to use). Baja beach club definately worth a visit if it's a lads holiday. TBH if it's a holiday the best part is exploring, just know where your wallet is at all times (crafty pick pockets - well used to be, not sure about now), and stear clear of any Moroccans (from my experience not the kinda people to mess with). Hope you have a great time. Last edited by woostar; 22-08-07 at 01:30 PM.. |

![]() | Re: Things to do in Barcelona?Racism? I said "from my experience not the kinda people to mess with". Can't blame anyone for allowing their numerous personal experiences to cloud their opinions of people (or group of people). Are europeans racist by viewing all English football supporters as hooligans, coz if you ask them that what they think (and who can blame them because of what they've experienced). It's just personal opinion at the end of the day... is nice when you find an exception to the rule. Kinda resent racism even being implied. |

![]() | Re: Things to do in Barcelona? Thanks Woostar. I stayed in Port Aventura hotel last year and I'm staying in the one next door to it this time - though I'm convinced that it's not as good. You know anything about it? It's the hotel El Paso in the Port Aventura complex. |

![]() | Re: Things to do in Barcelona?Make sure you read up on Gaudi (Antoni GaudÃ* - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia) The city is full of his quirky little buildings, including the infamous unfinished cathedral, where you can climb one of the 2 towers for a great view out over barcelona. Depending on how cultural you are there are also some other cool buildings designed by him, as well as the Park Guell just ut of the centre. this - http://www.brynosaurus.com/album/200...a/gaudi-lg.jpg - is one of his houses that is open to the public- you can go onto the roof for another good view of the city. and finally, Keep as little money on you as possible. |
