![]() ![]() | A and AS Level Results Almost Here!Well, it's almost that time for results. Who all is waiting on results tomorrow morning? What are your requirements and what are you doing next year? I'm waiting on my A Level results. I need BCC but it's really hard to even get that when you do Biology, Chemistry and Physics. I want to go to Queens next year to do computer science. If I was to get BCC I'd say the B would be Biology, a C in Chemistry and C in Physics. I'm worried about Physics because I don't think I did a 'C' class job on my tests, I fear it may be a D or worse. It's a scary thought that these are the most important results I'll probably ever get and that the contents of an envelope in tomorrows post will determine the rest of my life! I really don't know what I'll do if I don't get in, it's all I want to do. Anyone else as scared as I am?

I got A,C,D in the same subjects as you, didn't stop me getting into a legal career and law firms are notorious for looking all the way back to A-levels and GCSE's. I wouldn't sweat it, even if you have to go through clearing (which i'm sure you won't) i know loads of people who did clearing and ended up in places they never thought they would like but absolutely had a blast and wouldn't have a changed a thing. It's understandable you're nervous, but hopefully the above shows you that things usually sort themselves out, whatever happens.

![]() ![]() | Re: A and AS Level Results Almost Here!Cheers, that's what I'm worried about though, actually getting into Queens. I think they are quite strict with admissions and they do have a large amount of people to choose from. I just hope that there isn't too high a demand for the computer science course. There really only are 3 universities in NI, Queens and the two University of Ulster campuses in Coleraine and Jordanstown. They all have a similar course to the one I want to do at Queens but the grades are the same for entry so I don't even think I'd get into any of them by clearing. I had offers from both but turned them down for Queens lol. If it does come to clearing I hope they don't hold a grudge.

![]() ![]() | Re: A and AS Level Results Almost Here! You won't regret that lol. Physics gets unbelievably complicated in U6. Hope you get into your course though. I couldn't possibly do Chemistry for another year, it gives me shivers now!

![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: A and AS Level Results Almost Here!the amount of time you spend in lectures a day depends on your course. if you're doing computer science then i'd guess you'd have about an hour or two of lectures a day and about 6-10 hours a week spread out in classes doing practical work. you're gonna love your first year of uni! it's been by far the best year of my life!! i've just finished second year at sheffield uni, even though i got ABC for my A-levels you wouldn't be able to tell with the grades that i've been getting at uni! absolutely terrible!! Good luck for tomorrow though!! you might wanna rent some movies out or something to get you through tonight's sleepless night! |

![]() ![]() | Re: A and AS Level Results Almost Here! There's so much choice tomorrow I don't know exactly how I want to find results and things out. I will prob get my Chemistry from the Edexcel website. But then I have to get my other results by phone as I'm not at my house this week. I'm even considering driving home to check them myself. Then theirs checking to see if I got a place at uni, I may get curious and check that before I've heard all my results and spoil everything lol.
