Laptop Broked :'(

My mate spilt beer on the power adaptor last night.... and even after drying I think it might have damaged the laptop power port too

It doesnt charge anymore nor does it boot if i take the battery out and plug it into mains (proving the battery is still ok).

The LED on the power adaptor that is usually solid green (it still is when not plugged into the laptop) now just flashes and buzzes when plugged in sobbbbbbbb.

and to add to the pain, the courier that MSI have organised to pick up today (i called this morning, pretty good service)... is CityLink!!!! sob i'll never see my laptop again

and if i do i bet they'll format it.... losing so much data i need. i have so many PSD's on it for designing important graphics, code can be recoded... graphics are harder for me to replicate exactly + lots of photos i want

least I have my awesome desktop to use... thats better than the laptop in every aspect... its just got nothing personal on it

Cant you take the laptop hdd out and retrieve the files from it onto your desktop before you send it back ?

or transfer the files to your other computer somehow?

You can use a Crossover cable to conect the Laptop to ya PC and transfer your data like that if that is you can access your laptop now,

or just do what most ppl do when sending in a laptop for repairs, don't send the hard drive !!

they'll have spares in the repair shop so won't need yours.. and if they ask, you kept it was you need to get it backed up and can't risk losing work off it..

i wish i'd thought of taking it out before i sent it back :/ oh well, they just best not lose my data... pfff i did ask them to check out the card reader on it as its a bit dodgy... they asked me to send a card as they wudn't have any spares......... so doubt they'd have damn hdd's lol. i just said its a damn SD you'll find one lol and they agreed. losers
