Laptop help!

Basically, i need a laptop for university. It needs to cost around 1000 and be future proof (at least for the next 4 years!)
Crucial specs:

-2 GB DDR2 667MHZ RAM
-Vista
-Nvidia 7900 or above gpu
-core 2 duo 2.0ghz or above
-webcam
-over 40GB hard drive (preferably 7200rpm but don't really mind)
-some built in wireless tech
-15.4" or above screen

Demanding specs i know, but was just wondering if any of you have found any cheap shops for mid/high laptops?

This is what i am looking at, at the moment: ASUS F3SV-AP073G 15.4" 2D-T7300 2GB 160GB VISTA ULTIMATE - Custom Built PC Base Units - 0871 230 7170 because its got a webcam and a directx 10 card

I really don't want to have to buy dell

for a £1000, you can get a SWEET laptop, i looking for some now for my self and a new business, but on a budget of £300-400, Dell can make ya sweet system for that price, a small mobile laptop....

thanks, that one is quite good! Although i have set myself a grand as a target and i'd be disappointed if i didn't end up spending it all

This is the latest one i've found, it seems Asus rule this laptop market. nice processor, sweet gpu, nice HD/RAM, Tv tuner built in, 17" monitor...just about perfect!

i can't find any macbooks in my price range, do you know of any good retailers with a wide range of them?

Also i would prefer a laptop which shipped with vista, and it'd have to be quite a special macbook to sway me away from my deep dislike of Apple after their Mitchell and Webb adverts!
