I just checked my Hotmail junk folder (nothing to do with my AOL account) to find this pathetic attempt to get my AOL billing details.

The subject..... "update ur account informations"


"Billing Information


Dear Valued Member,

We were unable to process your most recent payment. Did you recently change your bank, phone number or credit card?

To ensure that your service is not interrupted, please update your billing information today by clicking here *Naughty Link*, After a few clicks, just verify the information you entered is correct. !

Yeah I get loads of similar style of emails pretending to be banks, with links where the link text is normal but when clicked it takes you to their mimic site where they nick your details.

Idiots.

Yeah, I had a few as well from Paypal. But sometimes they are real. I made a mistake of chucking them in the bin. So I kept on getting more reminders saying that there is a problem with whatever.The easiest way to check is to where it's from (the email) and make sure that the from address matches the site that they claim it from and also check the reply to address as well (if they have one). If it doesn't match, avoid these spammers but if it does, do not reply or sign in from the email but simply log in the mentioned site to find what the problem is. They will tell you on their site once you logged in anyway. Hope this makes your internet experience more safer and pleasant guys!

I think the email came from services or support @aol.com. I go by the way they address you ie. dear valued member as opposed to dear *username* along with other things and my own knowledge.

i always get these pieces of crap from someone pretending to be nationwide bank, and i also get bestiality porn which some nob signed me up to, but thats another story...
