Lost, the last episode of season 5

So has anyone watched the last episode of lost season 5?! It 2 eps in 1 and oh my word it was just awesomely brilliant. 1 hour and 24 minutes of complete suspense and storyline twists! If you haven't seen it yet then get torrenting right now! lol

Not going to go into it, but GRR at the 2 storylines we see at the end and having to wait a year to see what happens to them.

I can't believe we have to wait a year to see how it all ends. Plus they've raised more questions they need to answer. Will be very interesting to see how they tie up the loose ends. All in all I enjoyed the series finale.

I never thought they would beat season 1 for a frustrating ending, but they did!! That's really annoying!

Though more questions would be answered in this series but nothing really, I'm worried that there are too many questions and they'll end the whole thing without resolving any of the issues, but there you go.

Any bets that the alive "locke" is that dude that said he would love to kill Jacob at the beginning of the first episode? That's some impressive plastic surgery if it is!!

It was the scene at the start when Jacob is on the beach and he has just made some fish and there is a ship just off the shore (The Black Rock? if that is the name of the ship on the island that had all the dynamite).

Ben made a very interesting comment which made Jacob and the mystery man posing as Locke look at each other just before he stuck the knife in leading me to believe that the other guy actually IS Moses... did anyone else get that? Jacob has been alive a VERY long time afterall.

Plus at the start the way they were dressed seemed to suggest that it was some years ago- as did the fact there was what seemed to be a pirate ship close by. Not pre Jesus, granted but still pretty old.

AND that HUGE statue looks very egyptian to me. My history is sketchy but maybe someone else can pinpoint exactly when the egyptians were the dominant civilization.

Or I could just be reading into things WAY too much!

I say Moses, as in the biblical sense, as I wouldn't put it past Lost to do that and because of the comment Ben made. Jacob talked about the fact that the mystery man posing as Locke had found his "loophole" so it's definitely the guy that was on the beach but his name's not been mentioned.
I thought the statue looked egyptian.

I don't think it's moses, Moses was good, this man is probably bad (compare his dark clothing to Jacob's white).

Jacob had a brother called Esau and I think that this is who the dark guy was. Jacob and Esau had a very bad relationship, Esau was cheated out of his birthright by Jacob and threatened to kill him for this.

For some reason he cannot kill Jacob (like Ben and Widmore cannot kill each other), which is why he needs to find "the loophole" and get Ben to kill Jacob.

How did he get ben to do this? Because John told him to. Why did he do what John says? Because the smoke monster told him to do so. Who is the smoke monster?

Esau!!! Yes Esau is the smoke monster, he can shape shift but only in to people who have died! We know that he can also read and download their memories, this is why it was able to pose as Locke! Notice how when Ben called it to be judged it took ages to appear and only appeared once John had disappeared, and he only reappeared when it had dissappeared?

Now Esau has killed Jacob he has reasserted his birth right, i.e. the island. But is that a good thing? Maybe not, notice how Esau wanted Ben to kill Jacob, but Jacob said he had a choice? Out of Satan and God who would push someone to do something, and who would allow them free will?

There's also hints of Jesus with Jacob in the way he sacrificed himself, does this mean he will be resurrected in the next series to save everyone from Esau?

Also Benjamin was the 12th (and youngest) son of Jacob. Not sure what that means though!

wow some interesting theories here, but total agreement at how flippin' frustrating it was!
They've got one more series - 18 more episodes to tie up BILLIONS of loose ends

What of the polar bears? they seem to be forgotten so far. Particularly loved the miss-direction of who you believed to be Jacob!

I think i'm going to have to watch the Series 1-5 again sometime during the Summer, forgot a lot about the first 4 series!!

Dangg, this forum just reminded me of Lost!!
I am sooo hyped for the last season though, watching other TV shows recently (like FlashForward) reminded me how amazing Lost really is, no other show grips you like Lost.

Anyway I really hope it ends on a satisfactory note, because the producers said that a lot of ppl won't be happy with the ending :/ I just hope they don't leave a whole lot of things unexplained.
