KUDOS v4

Finally, after months of work, and probably what amounts of bucket loads of blood, sweat and even the odd tear, KUDOSv4 is now launched!!!!!!

At first glance you will see that the overall design of the site is very different from KUDOSv3 (and a damn site different to v1 & v2

). We've worked on the overall feel of the sites, and I hope you like the colour schemes. The gift images are big and crisp too. They are big on size but I feel that with most people having modern browsers and fast broadband it'll be ok (we will see). The most important thing in this game is the gift. That's why people come to KUDOS. So having them "in your face" should increase conversions.

It's not just the look of the site that's different. Read on to find out more...

Changes:

PUBLIC PAGES:
* New offers (including Intuit) with more on the way. I wanted to get the sites launched else I could have added some more.
* New gifts. Each site has new gifts compared to KUDOSv3.
* Referral link is now saved as soon as your referrals land on the page. No more lost referrals because they browse away from the signup page. If they do browse away, or even if they close the tab, when they come back they will be remembered as a referral. (If the browser is closed then the connection is lost.)
* Dynamic gift grid. The gifts are specific to the Country the user is connecting from so they will only see gifts which are relevant to them.
* Clever sign up page. If we get the Country wrong the user can select another Country and the labels in the signup page changes to enhance user experience.
* Public offerlist now shows multiple countries aswell as "International" offers. These are offers that are open to the whole world. Bare in mind we also have offers you can't necessarily see, like a few for France and Germany to name a couple. Flags will be added in time as I see fit. To visit the offerlist add /offerlist to the end of any site base URL, i.e. consoles.kudosnetwork

OFFERS PAGE:
* Much enhanced offers page. Not just with design but with way offers are loaded. We used to rely on JavaScript but now this isn't the case. If JS is on, then it'll use that other wise it'll revert to standard page opening. We also have better tracking from the click. Doesn't mean much expect user will never (should never) have any issues with opening an offer, which is obviously essential for getting freebies!

STATUS PAGE:
I feel this page is now way better. The stats on the right hand side load instantly. Before it used to take quite a while to collate this data. Now its practically instant.

* Hover over these blocks of numbers to get a description or definition.
* Ref list is paginated and you have the option to filter results. This all happens without page reloading, and it remembers your choices.
* Extra info is now clearer and better laid out.
* We also have a KUDOS Stages blocks along the top of the STATUS page. These have been coded to know what stage the user is at and give them a little helping hand as to what they need to do. They are stamped as "DONE" when the status has been completed.
* The grey bar along the top will display your status on every page. When you have placed an order, and when this order has been shipped, this bar will turn into a feedback form. Here you can rate your experience 1-5 stars, leave a testimonial and upload a picture. This will be mandatory for the time being so we can build up some usable testimonials. I have loads of proof pictures but no testimonials.

GIFT PAGE:
* Nothing too special here apart from the fancy custom JS slideshow

* Another feature here is that you can't place an order whilst you have an order in the system. Helps with administration my end.

TOOLS PAGE:
This is a new page and houses some of the regular features from before, only redesigned and recoded.

* Custom order tool. This has been completely re-thought out and has loads of functionality, most of which you won't even see. Use the sliders to choose your custom gift amount.
* We now offer Paypal as an option for custom orders.
* Custom orders are displayed at the bottom of the page for ease.
* Absolutely loads goes on behind the scenes here to make my job easier and to make the user experience as smooth as poss. I wont bore you with details.
* Promo banners have been redesigned too. Hope you like them, and yes we now have more than one.
* Customise KUDOS has changed, but not a lot. Its been recoded but the look is very similar to before.
* Hover over ? box to see description of gift.
* Other tabs are under construction for now...

PROFILE:
* Nothing special going on here.

SUPPORT:
Newly designed support page and untracked offer tool. I wont harp on about these, take a look and say hello.

Thats a quick overview. Doesn't seem much when I just type it out like that but there's so much work involved in making it all work behind the scenes. Basically everything has changed, including the way things are stored in the database. I'm sure I've missed loads of things here but you don't really need to know all the in's and out's.

I really hope you like the end result. There is still work to do as you can see on the TOOLS page and the SUPPORT page, but this is the base product for me to build on.

Negative:
There is only one "negative" point to mention and that is that I am reducing the cash rate from £18 to £17 per APPROVED referral. I have ran with £18 from launch back in August 2007, but to be honest, this was a mistake on my part being very new at the game at the time. I never changed it because...well... I just didn't!

But now is the time to alter it. I have my reasons, and they are financial and boring, but I will stress that this isn't to line my pockets. The margins are quite tight on this business, and with the commissions reducing on offers I am kinda forced into this situation. Hope you understand peoples. This is effective immediately but will only affect referrals gained from today. Any existing pendings etc that you already have will be paid at £18.

Right, now if you read all that then well done. lol. As a treat and because Im so relieved to get this finally launched, Im running a promotion on ALL KUDOS sites. UPDATE:

Just a quick note on browser support. I have tested in all modern browsers, and have fixed in IE7. It should mostly work ok. The big change from before is:

IE6 is no longer support!

I just don't have the time to justify the hours it would take to work around its inadequacies. It only effects a tiny amount of people however.

Looks so professional Lee, its brilliant! i can imagine sign-ups going to the kudos sites and being enticed by the design and believing a site this good looking can no way be a scam site which should help conversions greatly!

Lee not a bad point, but i think the forum sigs could be a bit better. Is they anyway to actually put "Complete" , "pending" etc under the digits ?

I think it was like this in the old sig, I hope I dont get grilled for giving my opinion *GULP*

I toyed with the idea of putting labels under the numbers. Ill have a think about it.

I've only done Freebiejeebies and due to the lack of under 18 offers I have not been tempted to budge. (Can't do anymore) But with the free manual credit, I'm definatly giving Kudos a go!

I can sign up to them all and get free offer credit or is it just one? Also, is there any chance of getting a cheapish offer like littlebidtastey that's international?
