Does anyone know how long this takes to credit or go pending. There are a couple of threads which suggest it should be instant, is this correct?

Someone has signed up to 1&1 as part of a trade with me but there is a thread on here which suggests they have already signed up to 1&1. I assume that means the offer wont complete successfully and I want to know how long I will have to wait before knowing for sure.
