Thanks for keeping us posted and explaining it Lee, just had 4 greens go through, but some of the others who had signed up before them are still pending, at least know I know why this is and can explain it to them.

I think it's great that site owners like you are prepared to take the time to keep us informed and up to date!

Hi Lee,

I know for sure that I should not have been revoked but I am still red. I signed up, received 2 DVDs and returned them both, I then canceled on the 13th day or something. No one in my house had ever been a lovefilm customer and I provided all valid details.
Could you please tell me what to do because I cannot see where I went wrong.

The same also applies to one of my referrals who rented and returned 1 DVD correctly. He is still red.

Thanks

I might actually start using Kudos, the customer service seems excellent.

hmm. There must be something amiss here.

Please can you email me (support[at]kudosnetwork.co.uk) with a screenie of your LF account page. Also include the kudos site you done the offer on, and your refID please.

Same applies for your referrals.

I can use this to debate with LF then.

My experience of LoveFilm.

I signed up under the 14 day offer and ordered a film. A week goes by nothing shows up, but my cp shows that I have a film at home. I don't. I called to cancel and they say that unless I return the film that I do not have, by a certain date, they will charge me. After getting through to the call centre manager, he told me to report the dvd as lost and they would cancel my account straight away. (still waiting for that to happen). I would rather pay full price for my iPod than pay for dvds that never turn up. Its my first experience of the 'free gift' service offered by web sites like kudos and I don't think I will come back. It's not because i think kudos are bad, judging from these boards they are very good, it's more more to do with the reminder from lovefilms on how scabby some of the promotional companies can be.

Sorry lee, but when I saw this thread about the LF declines, I started to wonder and it prompted me to look into where my dvd was. I reckon it'll show up on day 14.

I, as other members also, have found lovefilm to be an excellent service! I called to cancel my free trial (I did mine when I moved into my flat, before I knew anything about the freebie scene) and the guy was exceedingly helpful. He gave me an extra week free to ensure my DVDs got back in time.

Sucks you had a bad experience, but that doesn't mean the service is bad...seems like they made a mistake...or royal mail made a mistake (which seems more plausable!) You shouldn't let it put you off

Come on be fair, LOVEFiLM must send out 1000's of dvd's each day, by the law of averages some are bound to go missing/get damaged address labels in the post, I don't think its fair to class that as scabby.

Lovefilm has been brilliant for me and also reading other boards for many other people too. The fault is likely to be with Royal Mail more than anything and is just unlucky which is a shame really.

I agree that LoveFilm are good. My first disc went missing but I reported it and they dispatched a replacement the same day. They sent me an email saying that I would have to fill out a form from Royal Mail in order for LF to claim back the disc or pay them £10, at which point I thought "great this is a bad company/offer", but I kept an eye on my account and they removed the missing disc (I assume because Royal Mail returned it to their return address), so I had to accept that they are a good/responsible company.

Was also dead easy to cancel (even though it was an Indian Call Centre!), admittedly I may have told them I was emigrating to Australia and that was why I was trying to cancel (this to avoid them trying to convince me to stay for one more month), but still the customer service was good.

If Stevie has genuinely not been credited, and he is 100% sure then I hate to think how many other cases there are like this.

Haha at first i didn't understand what the guy was saying but he was really polite so i thought i would be polite back and say thank you to it all saying what i thought of lovefilm (excellent) and that i just couldn't afford it for now but would return in the future which is probable anyway

I completed LoveFilm as my first offer, but soon realised that a year ago I would not be able to fund it. When cancelling, I remember that they offered an online form which you could complete, but only after 11:30pm. I came to the conclusion that this was because they wanted somebody to talk to you to try and persuade you to stay

Exactly what I am thinking...and I know for a fact that one of my referrals should not have been revoked but he is still red. Unfortunatly he's out the country till september now and it was such a mission to get him to do the offer that I don't think I'm going to bother him with all this.

So Lee is looking into it now and we'll see what Lovefilm have to say. I cannot see a reason why I was revoked though (same with my referral) so hopefully it will all be sorted out soon enough.

On the topic of Lovefilms services...I am actually now a customer with them again (mainly for ps3 rentals) and they are excellent, and at such a great prices as well. I had a friend who did the offer and her first DVD didn't turn up...she simply reported it and her next DVD was dispatched the next day and she didn't have to pay a penny (did have to fill out the Royal Mail Form).
