Delay with bank transfers today...

Hi,

My online banking is playing up so I am unable to send out todays bank transfers.

According to the website, itll be back working again soon.

Ill keep checking throughout the day.

I thought bank transfers used to take 3-4 days to go through? Not that I'm complaining.

a lot of banks say 2 hours now , i transfered money online the other day to my mom and she had it almost instantly .

it depends i think... if its the same bank then it's instant, if not then it takes 3-4days

So natwest to natwest = 0-2hours
Nationwide to natwest = 2-4days

i think it just varies on the bank , my transfer that was almost instand was to a dif bank

Last year all the major banks enrolled on a new transfer system which allows MUCH faster bank payments, both between the same bank and different banks.

It was called Faster Payments System. Very original I thought.

I was going to say I pre-empted your request and sent the payment 3 days ago, but that would be silly

I transfer from HSBC to RBS and vi sa ver sa all the time and it's is pretty much instant both ways. Online banking is great
