If it goes down to yellows, I would read from that, the number of yellows managed to get during the competition. As that is a fair comparison.

I'm not just saying this because I'm a sore loser, because I honestly don't know who has more yellows since the start of the competition - so Joe may indeed have more than me. But for his 700+ yellows that he has managed to get since he signed up to count is, as you say, illogical.

You also highlight the point, why is it not greens before yellows anyway?

Hindsight is a great thing and

It's unfortunate that there was a tie as it always leaves someone disapointed and I can see prettyfly's point but I guess the rules were made before the comp started.

I reckon the next comp (if there is one) will have to be done slightly different to ensure there is no tie. For example maybe make it that that if no one has the number, the next higest wins and not having 2 people tied.

It's just a pity that someone can be tied for first and not get anything, maybe it would have been nice that if 2 people were tied for 1st place, the winner got the top prize and the runner up got the second, rather than nothing at all because at least they would be happy.

Its just a pity that it happened and if there had been a different number we wouldnt have this problem but at the end of the day rules have to be made.

Well done Winners! It is a shame that there was a tie for first place and I can understand PrettyFly's point of view. It does seem a bit odd that in case of a tie in first place that the person with the least Yellows doesn't get the second place gift imo but it is Lee's decision and hopefully for the next comp some new rules will be applied to avoid deceptions.

The rules are a bit ambiguous though:

"...if two people win then the one with the most yellows will win."

Common sense would suggest this to be, the number of yellows received in the competition timescale i.e. August. As this would be a fair comparison.

However, you would also expect it to be firstly decided on who managed to get the most greens in the timeframe, and if that was drawn - then go to yellows.

I never said I wasn't grateful for Lee putting the competition on, of course I am. As is everyone. Don't know why you brought that up?

The issue is not, and has never been, that you have been around longer (btw I was absent for over a year, and only got my first freebie in Feb since you brought that up also) - the principle is that someone could have signed up 2 years before a new person, and had a 2 year head start - that is why the way it was decided was unfair - it's not a level playing field.

my numbers were deleated from the comp,i log in on sunday thinking i had won the 1st prize,to find my entries were not able to be entered

clearer rules next time must be a must

To start off - I wont be backtracking here at all.

I set the rules, and however ambiguous they might seem, them's the rules.

(As a side note, if I was to go off yellows collected during the comp, then Joe would still win, if that helps anyone....)

However, that said, I can see your point Prettyfly. I will definitely take it into account for the next comp.

I thought the rules were pretty clear but I guess you can't please everyone all of the time.

Let's just leave it at that now.

Your entries were removed because they were from offers you had completed yourself on the points site. The comp was for green or pending referrals, not offers completed yourself.


I hope this can be put to bed as these comps are just a bit of fun. If they are taking too seriously then there's a danger of them not being run at all.
