kudos is a jewel in the rough

Point.kudos users - read this!!!!

I have just received an email from one of the networks I use predominantly for the points site.

They have advised me that the vast majority of the offer completions directed from kudosnetwork are fraudulent, and as such will NOT be paying the company any of the commissions earnt.

You will notice that all of the affected points have been declined. I have no choice with this matter until it is resolved. This may even mean that you are in negative points as I have already paid out gifts based on some of these offer completions.

The people to blame for this are the ones that have done the naughty, not me!!

As it is Sunday there isnt a lot more I can do. I have spoken with my solicitor, and have emailed the necessary people and will keep you updated via this thread.

It only really effects the points site, although the financial hit on the business will of course effect everything.

It wont effect any gifts being sent whatsoever as the business is financially sound. This is a set back however, of which I will take the hit.

Not happy to say the least, but hopefully I will resolve the issue over the course of this week.

I will update more when I know more.

I really cant believe the mentality and the stupidity of some people who actually think they can do it and get away with it. These ****ers then tell others to do it and very soon we get situations like this which gives a bad name to all the freebie networks.

Whats the point in network owners trying their best to get many offers to make their sites easier to get people to sign up for when certain "people" abuse them?

I really wish you could name and shame every single person that has abused the system and spolied it for everyone.

Thanks for the comments.

I have heard back and they are willing to discuss it further.

My initial thoughts are that it is a problem with the information that they capture at their end when the user completes the offer. I think they are under the impression that I am sitting here completing the offers myself. That's actually quite laughable.

Hopefully I will get to the bottom of it tomorrow.

Re: Point.kudos users - read this!!!!

As i said in a freepay thread about ringding offers

Quote:

I think its been obvious people have been blatantly abusing, in one unsupported networks own forums, members mention how they purchased 20+ simcards with a free £5 credit, to complete the ringding offers on said sites. Now how that is attracting new customers to a service i'll never know, and with activities like that taking place it will ultimately tarnish the reputation of free gift sites. I know that others have done this for freepay and it is something that angers me slightly (and I did predict a while back ringding offers would disappear, surprised they were around for so long)
Although I will say this, and it is not aimed at any particular network, but adding offers which you must have thought had a high chance of abuse is a bit of a poor business decision - how many people do you actually know who use such a ringtone/subscription based service on a phone? the costs are so high they just eat into credit/monthly bill's

I expect a fair few freepay accounts will start having green's revoked in the not to distant future to.

Are you having problems with other advertisers as well cause I've been waiting for other points for a couple of weeks. I only need 24 more points but some of the offers seem to be taking ages to credit.

From what I read on the FreebieTwist forums, the problem they had didn't seem to be just those using low or free credit, more that there was a glitch in the systems that allowed users to make up mobile numbers that didn't exist.

Their Kelkoo offers were also abused.

The worst thing of all is that they were sent a copy of a SWIFT payment from one of their advertisers confirming a payment in May that had never been actually been issued.

Hope you get it sorted though Lee, you don't deserve to lose out here.

I dont use the same network as FreebieTwist so Im not in the same boat exactly.

I 'should' be ok. I have a solid track record as a soletrader and the business is now a Limited Company, so they can see that it is a genuine business.

I will fight tooth and nail because I was unaware of the loophole and the fraud. If they asked me to remove the offers, I would have done in an instant. Im not interested in fraud, or being anywhere near it. But they didnt come to me. They approved the pending commissions, so in my mind this is the ringtone companies problem not mine. The pending period is there to approve or decline the credit. They approved.

I should be paid, and (arguably) so should my users.

Pushing hard with this one. Im hopefull!

Luckily it wouldnt effect things if I didnt get the money, other than my pocket. But ehho, live and learn.
