My Passion for Film

Hello eXceem Community,

Let me just start off by saying thanks to all of you on this forum. When I confirmed that this (freebiej....)was a legit trial process I was ecstatic. let me start off by introducing my self (seeing as this is why im here ).
Since the beginning of 2009 I have been very passionate towards film and film editing. I started out learning the basics and getting a hand for editing films. I'll be honest, It was not easy. Slowly I progressed to where I am today, which by the way, is far from magnificent. At the start of summer this year I was set to produce my first short film. I filmed an ad for Nerf's "Battle of the Ads" contest. The process was long for only a 30 second ad, but the payoff would have been great (10,000 grand prize). I planned to purchase equipment for editing and filming (ie...computer, camera, Adobe software). From the filming in CA to editing in WI took a total of around 2 months time. I started school shortly thereafter. After the submission of my video I received a disheartening email. It stated my ad had been rejected due to violating there set contest rules. I could have argued my point all day, but it was useless. That didn't stop me from continuing my passion.
So now we come to the present day (today). I was still in the lookout for a computer to edit my future video footage on. Unfortunately, being 15 with no job poses a problem. I was ready to raise money for myself by selling on ebay/garage sale). Past experiences with ebay made me stray away from that option. So I decided to go another route. After research upon research I came across someone talking about "freebiejeebies"(FJ). After reading FJ's terms and agreements very close, I joined. When discovered a forum site with FJ, I knew it was not a scam. Relieved to find a viable option for an editing PC I chose the iMac as my gift. Im pretty sure most people don't start with a gift like that but I'm determined to get it. Well that is my story for joining eXceem/FJ and once again thank you.
-Roy

Welcome man, if you could also stray away from long walls of text like that also it would be much easier on everybody's eyes and more people would read the intro that you put alot of time and effort into.

Anyway, it's nice to see somebody with so much creativity (Other than Djoscar) on the forums, I can't wait to see what your unstifled raw imagination can come up with.

On a side note, what exactly was the rule (or rules) that you broke when entering the TV ad competition?

Hey,

Ya I had typed it with paragraphs and indents, but I guess it got formatted differently? I broke safety: no unsafe places or stunts, and audio:only use the audio in the directors tool box. I could have resubmitted it to fit in the guidelines but It wouldn't have been my style. Here is the video: YouTube - "Experience the Rush" Nerf Battle of the Ads Submission
