Hi, I have a couple questions...

Ok, I actually have a lot of questions. I have been a member here for the last 1-2 weeks and have asked a lot of questions and got a lot of answers (thx exceem!) so far, but still don't really have a great feel for how everything works just yet.

#1: Concerning cookies/browsers and stuff. I have only seen this topic mentioned maybe once in my 20+ hours of research thus far. I copied this straight of a freebie site. My questions are
A. How much of the following applies to other sites, and what ones?
B. How important are these things really? (such as enabling all cookies, dont use Firefox, etc..)

"1. How An Offer Is Tracked
Here's how it works. When you click an offer link, you are redirected by our affiliate marketing company to the website of the product or service you requested. The marketing company retains your referral ID, and once you have completed an order or complete the requirements for that particular offer, the marketing company sends us the offer you did and your referral ID. The tracking is done by placing a cookie on your computer when you click the offer link. This step is crucial to your offer completion being credited. This guide will explain how to do all you can to make sure that you get credit for doing offers.
2. Preparation
1. Internet Browser - The best browser to use to do offers is Internet Explorer. FCA doesn't recommend using Firefox or Opera (If you're using a Mac, Safari should be fine). You must also change your security settings in Internet Explorer. Go to Tools, then Internet Options. Go to the Privacy tab, and move the slider to the lowest setting, Accept All Cookies. If you have problems with IE, try Firefox, but be sure to adjust your security settings to allow cookies.
2. Firewall/Security - Any firewall, virus, adware and spyware protection should be disabled before clicking an offer link.
3. Internet Connection - If your computer is connected to the Internet by a VPN or wireless/wired network, the cookies may be blocked. Your computer must be directly connected to the Internet via the modem. In other words, their should be nothing between your computer and the wall socket except a modem.
4. Cookies - Lastly, you should clear the cookies from your Internet browser. To do this, go to Internet Explorer, then Tools, and Internet Options. Under the General tab, click Delete Cookies. The process will take about a minute, once it's done, go to the offers page and click the offer link.
3. Doing The Offer
Just a few tips to follow:
1. Don't click the link more than once.
2. Don't reload any pages, don't push the ‘Place Order' or ‘Submit' button more than once.
3. Don't leave the website once you've clicked the offer link. If you must go to another website, do it in another browser window.
4. Do not ever lend your CC number to anyone to use for an offer, or use anyone else's CC for an offer. You never know if they've done that offer before, and plus it's just common sense to keep that information private. It's also a rule on FCA that you can't do an offer for someone else."

THANKS,
Brandon.

That would seem like a very bad idea and should have no affect on your offer or it's tracking. Maybe adware but certainly not virus!

thats exactly what I thought! and this made me nervous, knowing that this would surely lessen the number of referrals I could get.
