Newbie touting

I've seen a lot of threads recently (3 tonight alone) trying to get newbies when they introduce themselves to sign up to people's sites either by trades, through congas or by going to individual freebie guide sites that members have made!

All newbies can read and hopefully make up their own minds about sites they want to join without help from members on here! You can potentially put them off from here if they think they're just going to be bombarded by different people 'touting' at them!

Anyone who does it from now on will be given an infraction, followed by a ban if they carry on!

Agreed, when I initially heard of the scene, I visited various forums and was put off by this...

and to add to Emma's post, this does include offering information wich just happens to contain your referral link. eXceem has its information area, which is just the same as a wiki were anyone can edit/add articles so feel free to add it there!

I know i'm opening myself up for a ribbing but what is a wiki? I've heard of Wikipedia of course and Waikiki in Hawaii, i even remember the song where Will Smith sang about going to the "wiki wild wild west" but none of these really seem to explain what a wiki is.

Umm... well Wikipedia is one of the most popular Wikis around. Basically they're sites where people can create and edit pages, with the idea of becoming a useful information resource which anyone can append

a wiki is a web "program" that lets everyone edit a page, for example i could make a page on corrupt trainee solicitors and mention that the_saint was corrupt. you could then see that that particular fact is incorrect, and edit the page to state the truth "the_saint does not have a clue" (sorry for the example :P)

EDIT;- Corruption is a very subjective term, who is to say what is and isn't corrupt?!?! To be honest i don't have enough power to be corrupt....yet!!

True as it is most days, i still take offence to the allegation of "not having a clue"!!

you can join any conga you want, you don't need to trade first, and you'll be able to trade in the system when you have at least five posts and have been here five days!

hey I am new and lost in understanding this. If I am interested in one of the sites(freebee sites) how do I get on to get referrals from exceem , do I join a conga.. what do I do . i saw somewhere on this site that congas were closed. How can I use this site to help me with referrals
