How well does ".co" do?

OK so I was bored of my networking work and so started looking at domains (I know I shouldn't!) but I've found the perfect domain!

It is available in .co.uk but I found it by looking at ".co"

Now I know Chiggs has got a .co and so I was wondering if people knew how well these ranked? Bareing in mind it's a fairly new TLD! Will it get stronger?

Just wondering if I should get both .co.uk and .co or just the .co.uk?!!

(.co.uk = £5 and the .co = £19.99 )

Cheers in advance for any advice!

Hmm, thanks... I've just gone for the .co.uk for now, but might grab the .co if I'm feeling rich enough!

How you know about the freenew one already?!! That's what I just picked up!

Well here's the breakdown of my current sites:

Concentrating on
Free iPhone 4 - This changes everything. Again
Free iPhone - Your guide to a Contract Free iPhone for Free
freenew one

Others I'm not re-registering
Quick Free - Free iPhone 4 | Free XBox Slim | Free iPods | Free iPad
Free Apple iPods - From the Shuffle to the iTouch
Quick Free iPad - Welcome
Free XBox Kinect
Free iPod Touch | Free iPod Touch - Now with FaceTime, Retina display, HD video recording, and Game Center
Free Nintendo 3D S
Free Football Shirt
FreeSat3D.co.uk - This domain is for sale
FreeSat3D.com - This domain is for sale

I think that's it....

MJ. Just out of interest, (other people please answer too). How do you host each of these domains, e.g a whole new hosting package for each site. Or one hosting package that allows you to use these domains as subdomains of one main site.

.co is roughly the same as .com. It is meant to grow bigger and better as it's new and has potential that's why i think it costs so much.

You could buy both domains and make the .co.uk domain redirect to the .co.

I've recently bought a .co ... and hoping it works as well as others.

Lots of "free****.co" still unregistered so I suggest you get in there quick :P

lol I know... but I just went for the .co.uk which was £5 Really can't afford .co's untill I get the new job, and even then I shouldn't as I have too many! (ps: knew you were joking!)

As for hosting... I host all new/rubbish sites with 000webhost and I host my main sites with proper paid hosting.

I may look into .co shortly, but as I said I really shouldn't and should just concentrate on my established domains. As should the rest of you Get 1 domain, make it good then if you need a new site just add a new folder "/free-ipad/" etc!

I was wondering... The domains which you marked as "not re-registering", does that mean you are not going to be using them anymore?

I like your iPad site, if you're gonna throw it away, why not give it to me?

Yeah you can if you set up the DNS correctly and can get it to point to a subdirectory in your hosting as a root folder.
