| Re: kg archive program can compress 1gb to 2 MB yes its not a typoI tried compressing a 2.1 mb mp3 file, on the "good" setting it took 10 mins to compress and the same to uncompress again it reduced the file size from 2,159,192 bytes to 2,109,797 rar only managed 2,143,312 on its maximum setting, but then it only took 6 seconds. P.S. on maximum compression KGB said it would take like 8000 hours so I cancled it.

| Re: kg archive program can compress 1gb to 2 MB yes its not a typoguys you're forgetting that most all files you use are heavily compresesd anyhow. eg bitmpa vs jpeg. avi mpeg1 vs xvid mpeg4 mp3 vs wav The claims only work on text files with no compression on them already. You can't compress something indefintely, it relies on clever algorithms to spot patterns within the data and write code for the pattern to deciher a less space intensive one. eg I could give you 2 versions of the complete volumes of shakespeare. A compression onf 2-1 would be easy, just write original volume X2 and you have half the space
