Hey everyone,

Just finished my new site:

amirite
1. A word that draws attention to a particularly clever (or not so much) play on words.
2. Used to request confirmation of the accuracy of the previous statement, usually one's opinion.

What's This?
The idea is simple: post your thoughts, puns or anything else and people will tell you if you're right or wrong. Credit goes to FML for the concept, we've taken it and applied it to a different idea.

I don't see a link to exceem on all the other sites that are posted in this forum.... why is this any different just because I made it?

ummm, EVERYONE who has a link to their site on eXceem has a link to eXceem on their site.

Same principle I believe... if your going to put a link on exceem, even if it's in a post, it's a link back. Check with Claire80 though, she's the boss on this!

If that were the case then surely people would not be able to post any sites that they do not own as they could never guarantee a link back to exceem.

I think the reason the link was deleted because it is only interesting to you as it is your site. Therefore blatant advertising

That's my point: I dont see a link to exceem on this site, this site or this site and yet those links are allowed because of the nature of the Interesting Websites section. So I want to know why I'm being discriminated against just because I happened to make this site and not just find it somewhere.

Yes, obviously I was trying to promote my site, but I also thought that people here might find it interesting. It's not like it's just some page of me talking about what I've eaten over the last week or something that nobody would care about. It's something new and I honestly thought people would find it interesting.

Yes but despite what section of the forum it's posted in those aren't their own sites. If you post your own site on exceem it needs to have a link to exceem. No-one is having a go and sorry for the picture above was only messing but it's just the rules and always has been the rules. You are not being discriminated against, it's the same for everyone!

This is what has been said already. My point is (for the third time). Why, just because it's my site, is it different from any other "interesting site".

The fact is that if I didn't say it was my site and it didn't have my logo at the bottom you would have no idea that I made it and the link would still be there, amirite?

As a side note: it seems impossible to even find the rules to read them. The only thing you see when you sign up is 4 paragraphs that mention nothing about conduct on the forums.

I think you answered your own question with that question... I did not see the site but i'm guessing it was a freebie site and was not hard to guess it's your own site. It's a matter of judgement.

If it was a freebie site like many others here the link would probably be removed anyway whether it be yours or not because it would still need a link back to exceem because of the nature of the site.

Anwway is it a big deal to put a link back to exceem if your advertising the site here?

It wasn't a freebie site!

And if you'll excuse my arrogance I don't think you would tell it was made by me either.

That's why I've made such a big fuss about it, it's just a random website that I made that I thought people would enjoy. It has nothing to do with freebies and a link to exceem would be out of place on it.
