As a family we already have 3 high spec pcs - 2 desktops and a laptop. I wont say im not tempted to open the box though but I know if I do then I will have to keep it because they are too nice. The fact that it can be dual booted now makes it more tempting for the kids as their games will still run. Nothing will replace my laptop for me though. Was looking at these in the apple shop and they are lush! and they match my ipod! How are they for playing games etc? Other half likes to play games on computer a lot, dont think this will compete with the graphics and sound cards he has stuck in our pc. |

| Re: Imac G5 comp win from giveaway recieved!Yeah but how many computers do an adult and 2 small kids need? I know the feeling though, the box is calling me to open it! You lot are almost twisting my arm. The interface alone was great, not to mention the fact they hardly crash. But not much free software is availiable and most of the kids games need xp. Oh what to do. One sold 2 days ago for £840 used... Ill take a look at the software. I know photoshop is a little cheaper on mac and they are much better for that. I dont know much about them...can you use for php, sql and java programming? |

Frees up the main desktop for use as a webserver for my final year project for uni because imac dual boots like a dream. Although Apple os x is far better than xp. Looks like a big ipod and the media remote is an adapted ipod shuffle! Just for the way it looks on the desk it was worth keeping it, but it comes with loads of (useful) software unlike any PC.
