Does the high SERP position guarantees greens

I am interested in your experience and opinions. The logic is that the higher SERP position the more exposure your site have and the more visitors --> the more greens.
But it depends on how your site is user friendly and the content on it.

I am looking forward to hearing your points of view

Being #1 for "Free iPhone" will guarantee you some sign ups... no matter how bad your site looks - it's all part of the numbers game.

However, to get decent sign ups who will actually complete offer you need to have a decent user-friendly site... at #1!

It's also surprising the difference in unique hits your site gets at #1 and #2. I'm in the lucky (or not so lucky position) that I can see the difference atm. My site is #1 in google.com and #2 in google.co.uk... I get a massive ammount more hits from .com than .co.uk just because of 1 place difference!

So the answer to your probing query is... create a good user friendly site and get it to #1 for several competitive and long tail keywords.

You are right in general terms but can't compare .com to .uk, the search volume is massively different.

My sites are very amateurish but have done ok due to SERPs. If I'd ever dreamed the rankings would have been good, then I'd probably have got them professionally designed. Hindsight is a wonderful thing but I can't complain.

Traffic is lower than this time last year, more likely due to other smartphones taking peoples interest, but I'm still seeing 15-20 pendings a week plus the affiliate side is making a mint which I'm not disclosing lol, although 3 mobile is converting ****e atm, had serious words with my account manager and things seem to have changed for the better work that one out.

But I'm more than happy atm with the way things are going (****e website or not)
kiss my seo arse you moaners.

15-20 pendings a week ain't to be sniffed at! Seems like you got a great thing going for now!

What affiliates do you use, without disclosing the amount you make of course?!

To put some context on the numbers, for six months I had UK top spot rankings on several good iPhone deals keywords and commissions were consistently running at over £5,000 a month. That was using Three Mobile's direct programme and also Mobiles.co.uk through Affiliate future.

Since rankings dropped and the top spots were lost, the earnings are a fraction of that figure.

Makes you think though, there is astounding amount of money to be made in affiliate marketing (for much greater mortals than me who know what they are doing).

Hmm... may have to add some affiliate links to my top ranking sites then!
