Tips on referrals?

Hi everyone!

, I've posted q similar thread on the general board and was advised that this was the best place for the discussion...

I am very new to freebiejeebies and kudos (as you'll be able to see from my signature! Lol). What I want to know is yur opinion on what are the best ways of getting referrals? What do yu find are best practises, and what do you advice against?

Any kind of feedback or even starting points would be really appreciated.

A few points I've be thinking of would be setting up a website/blog. Have links and pages on social networking sites, and participating in other sites. However, I have yet to begin this process.

Well firstly I would recommend the website definitely there is no need to over do it just enough to put the point across you can check mine for inspiration if you want the link is in my signature.
Another great way of getting referrals is promoting it uses handouts business cards and posters. These can easily be created by using a DTP program or vistaprint do 250 free business cards ATM.
Another idea of which I picked up from another person was advertising on money. Now I am not sure on the way the law works when writing on money as we all know every one does because we sometimes receive an old note with it on, just think if that was your advertising. Also if you commute on a train or somewhere similar get the newspapers and advertise on the top of them as this has been said to work as people have been seen tearing off your web address.
One final idea is sign up to getter.com now I have only just decided to give it a try so have not fully tested it yet but the site allows you to earn points on which you fan spend on referrals.

If you mean "trade", then yes, but it must be done in the Trades section.
