![]() ![]() | Google NotePad/NotePad++ alternatives. I was checking out a few a couple months ago, stuck with NotePad++ though, preferred it over the others I found. If your on a Mac, there are quite a few nice ones (some you have to pay for though). |

| iPod Nano 2GB | I Agree, you either code or use WISIWIG. If your coding i would stick with notepad++ but if you want something simple and quick like my site then use iWeb like i did or some other kind of WISIWIG

![]() | Dreamweaver? Heck no. Just no. NO. But notepad++ is a bit overwhelming... Are there plugins that make it keep track of the indenting? ie: when you put the slash to make an ending tag, it moves the element over 1 tab to the left? And one for when it see you are putting an entirely new element in, have it move over 1 tab to the right? |

| Mini Mac | What's wrong with Dreamweaver? Personally I think once you get used to it, Notepad++ is very easy to use. |

![]() | Well why would I use dreamweaver? I'd have to pay for it Anyways, I'll probably stick w/ notepad++... Does anyone have experience with Komodo edit? |

| Mini Mac | Web developers use dw, no? And there are other methods of getting it (which I will not go into) Have you heard of Kompozer? It's a decent free dw alternative. |

| iBook | If you want Dreamweaver, PM me. Although I'd advise you to stick with Notepad or Notepad++

![]() | Isn't Dreamweaver a WYSIWYG thing? I'd rather work directly with the code and OC there are other ways of getting stuff....I just prefer to keep it legal unless absolutely necessary... Alrighty then...I'll probably stay with notepad++ or try Komodo edit |

| Mini Mac | Yeah DreamWeaver has two modes, code and design, which is why I like it. It also has a live preview option which lets you see what your site looks like on a real browser. |

| iPod Nano 2GB | Every one has personal preferences like i prefer to use a mac when making websites because it makes everything much easier. Dreamweaver is used in the web developments industry because it has both a WYSIWYG side and a Code side , i would highly recommend it. If your a beginner to web design and don't want to learn to code then choose something like iWeb for mac, Serif Web Plus or any other WYSIWYG.

| iPod Nano 2GB | I have to disagree. I prefer Notepad ++ for raw coding and photoshop or paint.net for the graphics
