I even tried my 'girl' email account to add the feminine touch, but no luck.

Will be interesting to hear your results Corky!
Nothing so far mate... emailing old reds doesn't seem to work at all.

Ages ago I used to email reds every few days using the subject "Recent Signup" and got more off a response as they had only signed up. Might try doing that again for the next couple of weeks and see if there is a noticeable difference!

Not wanting to spoil your cornflakes MJ10, and I know you said you sent this to Kudos reds not FJ... however, I just want to let people know that if they send the email in the OP to reds on FJ we would consider this to be in breach of our rules for being deceptive for 2 reasons:

1. It sounds like it is coming from the network itself. Please try not to do this. We are likely to receive support tickets about the email "we sent them" and we of course have no idea what they are talking about. This just makes the whole thing look like a scam when they are receiving emails pertaining to be from us from a random email address that we then know nothing about. To people who don't understand the referral system, at the least they think we have given their information out willy nilly.

We don't expect you to explain the ins and outs of the referral system and why you have their email address. However, please don't refer to FJ as 'we' and 'us' like you are contacting them as an FJ network representative.

2. Your email states more than once that they will receive an item just for completing an offer. This is not true and it is misleading to tell people this. This results in people contacting us complaining when they have completed an offer but don't then receive their gift - particularly when they have received an email that says it has come from the network.

As I used this template I would just like to make it clear that I edited it a lot so as not to refer to myself as freebiejeebies. I've only sent emails to reds a couple of times and my name is always "Free The Gadgets" and I have my own signature with my support email in it!

Cont... (sorry, on phone and couldn't send all in one reply).

You should not tell them that completing an offer is "all they have to do" to receive a gift. This is misleading because they also need to obtain referrals. We don't expect you to write a full explanation about the referral procedure but if you are going to tell them how to get a gift, it should be complete an offer, refer friends, and receive your gift.

It only actually requires a small change in wording that I doubt your referrals would hardly notice.

Sorry to be picky guys but you wouldn't believe the number of complaints we receive due to the above.

As I said, this is our request at FJ and I obviously don't speak for Lee at Kudos or any other networks.

Cheers guys

No worries, I'm not on a witch hunt or looking for excuses to put people on hold. I haven't even read through all the replies to the thread. Just that some of you may have already been told by us not to do this and I want our rules to be transparent to all.

My appologies... I should have known better tbh. This time I just wanted to strip it down and make it come across as simple to the user as possible, not meaning to be deceptive. (Honest Gov!)

Metal note made for the future, if i bother with it again!

It's ok, no need to apologise MJ10. I know you weren't even on about FJ so I hope you don't mind that I used it to explain our take on it. I know the vast majority of eXceemers including yourself dont intend to break rules, that's why I thought I would post so that people know for future, it's only small changes.
