Fiverr Nolonger allowing "free X" adds...

I stumbled on this site last night searching the forums here and noticed that there were almost no posts there now about FJ, so I made 4 different "gigs" in hopes of getting greens (or failing that, getting $5/gig) and this morning I've gotten back emails saying they denied (revoked) my gig because it is "fraud, spam, or illegal activity" (late to the party? hell I always arrive when everyone's gone and the cops are on their way... T_T)

Thought I'd save everyone else some trouble...

It's true, you CAN still get gigs on there but it's much harder. They've been denying the blatant ones for ages

Why don't we just explain that FJ is real and not spammy etc? I'm sure we've done it before, if FJ could email them or something and explain why peope use their site for gaining referrals.

The odd thing is I posted 4 (Macbook, iPad, iPhone, iTouch) and only 2 got rejected... (iPad and iPhone I think) even though the other 2 were worded almost identically to the first two minus the intro (which I taylored to the area they were posted in)

every time i read something like that about fj i cringe a little. almost feels blasphemes.

EDIT: though it said scam at first, but it still sounds just as bad. i do plan on using fiverr for non fj related stuff though, got some ideas that can make me a little extra cash.

I can see what fiverr are doing, you are basically getting $5 for having someone sign up to your ref link. You should really do something like "design a logo for you" or something a long the lines, and instead of getting paid from them, show them your ref link.

While you are right, I dont think Fiverr is doing that. I think they are just being cautious. I mean think about how many of these "free X" really ARE scams. In hindsight I'm surprised they ever allowed it at all

Some of it is reasonable, some of it is crazy. I, for one, plan to try and fill some of the less intense requests when I have time. (Though more than a couple are just looking to get high-end services at $5 cost)

Seriously though, I am seeing this, and there are a few of these still floating around on fiverr, but nobody seems to be biting (I till have 2 up myself) I think this is falling into the realm of "oh it must be a scam!" and people ignoring it...
