 | Business card method - with a small twist!Hello everyone! So I got some business cards made up for my website and had very good intentions to go to my local shopping centre and hand them out. However, I just couldn't do it! Something just told me in my head that I couldn't! Whether it be because I wasn't allowed becuase I hadn't asked permission or just because I was too embarrassed to do it I don't know. But anyway this got me thinking of how to distribute them but still reach the target audience that I need for it to work? Well I was thinking of posting them in selected places which may contain my targed audience - student halls, modern flats and apartments and shared houses - places like that, places that are more likely to have a lot of post boxes in a small proximity (due to it being ******* freezing at the moment) and also to cut down on the time it takes to distribute them. Am I wrong in thinking this will target younger people who are more likely to be interested in the things we are offering? Another pro to this variation of the business card method is that when you post the card, it is in the house and more likely to be used and not thrown away, do most people check these things when they are at home? Anyway I haven't done too bad from this method so far but I have not done the handing out method to campare it to! Hope this helps some people out! And good luck! |

| try to go near uni halls or student unions. There is tons of young people and also loads people handing out some leaflets, so u wont feel embarresed. Does it uctually work for u? I have never tried leaflets or bussines cars so would like to know if it worth the money and time. |

| Yeah it's worked ok so far, however I've not been posting many lately but yeah it's good. I got 750 cards with custom print on the front and rear for about £20 delivered from Vistaprint. Not too bad I didn't think. |

 | I guess targetting the student population by getting some small catchy slogan like 'Need money quick?' or something better and more catchy than that lol, would be good. Post these all over halls and you may get some good luck. I might consider this myself... Or perhaps approaching people in the street and giving them. Might be interesting, but need to target the right people.

| Yeah there would be a few wasted on people who aren't interested I reckon when posting but I quess if your like me and don't really feel comfortable handing out then it would be a trade off between wasting a few and not handing out? |

 | Watch out when putting it around student halls, as some will want you to pay for advertising. I know that it is around £180 per 1000 leaflets/business cards in my halls. |

| And watch out for signups from the same IP address. I would have had hundreds of greens from uni if people could sign up from their halls... just make sure whatever you do is off campus and 1 per house etc. Maybe state it on a flyer? that's what I did!
