![]() | 16 greens to be on tv.So this is a very big and crazy idea i've had in my head for mounts, never could think of how it would work till now. I should emphasis that this is a very big and crazy idea, so lets be hypothetical. Getting your reff link up on the television would be pretty awesome. only problem is it would be a huge investment, and most probably a big waste of cash. However there is a company here in the us called spot runner, they allow small businesses with small budgets to advertise on tv. For around $500 (Roughly £318) you will get a 30 second spot on american cable networks like ESPN, the food network, spike, and comedy central. (i haven't found out how long a commercial will stay on the air though.) $500 is way out of my budget, and so if enough people think this would actually work, then we could all contribute. If my math is right (which it isn't often.) $500 = £318 £318 / £20 (one green) = 15.9 So basically all we would need to invest for the commercial is 16 greens. The ad would contain a url directing people where to go. Keep in mind i know almost nothing about building sites. The site would be just like any other page you guys have, explaining how FJ works, proof, that stuff. This is the part i'm having trouble explaining. The actual link to the referral would automatically change every time someone signs up (not sure if thats possible.) So there would be a list of contributors reff links built in, and every time a visiter joins a referral link, the computer would change all the links on the page. I really dont know if i'm getting this across, so i drew a diagram up. ![]() If this doesn't explain it, then i'm not good at explaining stuff or making diagrams.. which isn't surprising. Anyways, each person who contributes to the site and tv ad gets there reff link on the list. If enough people think this could work, then im willing to gamble my only green to getting it off the ground, but if not then it is just a hypothetical idea.. ![]() Also, spot runner is just an example, i'm sure there are plenty more places like this across the uk. that sounds like a better idea to me, because ive heard on here that us reffs complete less offers. Ive just always felt people trust tv ads more then online ads. Everyones always been told online ads are not to be trusted, And most people know tv ads arnt cheep, usualy costing somewhere around these ranges. I also know there is no guaranteeing of greens, while one person could get all greens (very hypothetical) another person could get all reds. So am i a complete idiot? has this idea come up before? (i searched for this idea, but came up with nothing.) or could i possibly be onto something? Last edited by wesley1234; 05-12-10 at 05:29 AM.. |

| Romper Stomper | I'm willing to bet that you would only get one single advert for that. One hit for each of your $500. Is that really enough to generate enough return ?

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I've look into this for the UK a year or so ago, cant rem the exact figures but for morning tv it was something like £450 per 30 sec slot but you had to buy min of 10 slots. Also the fact for you website to be advertised it would have to be **** hot and really pro looking. But also the fact what we do is a Gray area so not sure if the advert would be allowed after being reviewed by the Advertising Authorities.
