robots!!

Maybe this should go in website discussions, but it seems more like its a green tactic to me. given the choice i think most people would rather watch a video then read a wall of text, so i decided i would make a video to tell them about freebiejeebies. the problem with other videos is that everyone adds there websites address into them, and thats not to good. But thanks to xtranormal, i made this!

i will also have more videos through out my page, which Uninspired Bot says. That will hopefully spark some interest and cause the readers to scroll down further and further down the page to see the videos.

Only one problem i've just spotted with this one, i typed an "I" instead of an "L", as so the last sentience is "L will be seeing you latter."

so maybe ill have to add another bot named "L", not sure how i'm going to fix this one yet, but ill get around it.. anyways, this will hopefully hold peoples interests more, try it out at Xtranormal | Text-to-Movie. its free, i was going to use larry king and sarah palin, but i stuck with the bot.

also, please tell me if you have a hard time understanding anything he says. I know what it says because i typed it and listened to it about 50 times wile making this, but i'm sure some parts will be hard to understand. ill redo it if its to hard.

wow.. sounds like a great idea.... not sure if people will get put off by a 'text-to-speech' voice though.. something more natural would make it feel more professional. I'll be sure to add one to my site... thanks for sharing!

Theres no way anyone can compete with Jesus... love that video.

as for the text to speech voice, i dont thing to many people will mind. As long as they can understand it. I think its a better voice then most tts voices, i used this voice (with ghost reader) to narrate my senior project in high school, and even used it in an astronomy class this semester. Ive never had any complaints, mostly people saying how realistic the voice sounds compared to other tts voices. you do have to play around with the spelling to get some things to sound right though, to get it to say freebiejeebies, i had to write "free bee g bees". But if big insurance companies have used this robot, it should work for us to..

actually got the idea to try this out after i saw this on tv.

you guys are way more advanced at getting refferals than i am. if i had the slightest idea how to do any of that stuff it would be happening. very good idea. would prob be quicker to read a wall of text but not half as interesting

Im sure you could do it. The reason i used xtranomral was because of the super simplicity. After i took an animation class and spent about 18 weeks making a ball bounce up and down, i'm still amazed this could be done in about an hour. best of all its in browser! all you do is create an account, or log in with facebook, and you are ready to start. Its not that flexible though, there are a lot of things you cant do but for the speed and simplicity its not that big of a sacrifice. You just type up the script, add the cameras, actions and animations and your done. just publish it to youtube.

None yet, i haven't finished the last of the four videos because of homework, but i've got no class for the next three days after today so i plan to do it then. Ive got the other three done (including this one) so once i finish i will embed them all at once on my blog/site. Ill post them here to if anyones interested to see.

This isn't the most effective marketing but may indeed work. Although 99.9% of the traffic you get by doing it will not be targetted.

My current site is directed to a very small demographic, on my collage campus. i've just been posting fliers, talking to people, handing out cards, ect. Almost all the advertising i've done so far is offline. I'm just hoping these series of videos would help keep there there interest before closing the window and forgetting about it.

over winter break i plan to start working on a more advanced site, (right now mines just a tumblr blog) and read into seo so i can get that off the ground.

i miss larry king already.

there should be a button that says 'publish to youtube', thats how i did mine. i dont know how to embed one from xtranormals site.
